Russco Studio-Pro Turntable - $4,500 (Roseburg)

Roseburg, OR 97471

Extremely rare studio transcription turntable. The Russco Studio Pro 3345 was the go-to American broadcast record player after the change from standard 78 mono records to single 45s in the 1950s. The Studio-Pro can play either 45s or 33s with the quick flick of a milled stick shift. Russco was made in the US as the heavy-duty American answer to the Garrard 301. The powerful, pro-quality motor will cue the record to playing speed from a dead stop in less than 14 turn. This particular specimen came from the rock and roll station WWWW FM in Detroit MI. It was used by many of the top rock disc jockeys of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Even Howard Stern worked there until the station changed to a countrywestern format and this unit was retired. This turntable has been lovingly restored and fitted with a very rare and brand new Russco RA12 tonearm that was sourced from new old stock. The tonearm is also fitted with a new Denon DL103 cartridge that can be included for an additional fee. The custom plinthbase is made from solid mahogany and fitted with isolation feet. This is a professional grade, idler-wheel turntable and like all transcription units the drive mechanism can be heard slightly. This was never a problem in radio station use but homeowners should be aware that these machines are not completely silent. see video httpsyoutu.benugsVDFkBbI
